Engineering Overview & Scope
Positive Power’s hermetically sealed distribution transformers are completely sealed from atmospheric contact. Thermal oil expansion is accommodated by elastic deformation of the corrugated tank walls, preventing atmospheric oxygen and ambient humidity from coming into contact with the insulating mineral oil.
This hermetic design prevents oil degradation and sludge formation, completely eliminating periodic oil testing, filtration, and silica gel replacement requirements. It is ideal for indoor basements, rooftop substations, and compact containerized enclosures.
